Survey said that the new mike was better. I have headphones, mike and boom stand. =P I just need people to finish the manuscript. Then I'm launching.

@Bryan Lincoln I have both, the problem is that the MLX picks up extra sound and the headphones do not... they have a directional mike which means no extra sound except my voice. I'll probably survey people for voice clarity. (I also have two sets…

I doubt gaming headphones will cut it, based on my own podcasting experience.

Podiobook Curse Part III

Lost track of how many podcast curses I've gone through. I'm almost at the point of giving up and going with the crappy game set headphone.

Upside, I got through another chapter and mapped out the next chapter. I'm on chapter 13 of the Science Fiction/Fantasy book.

Downside... I bought 2 more mikes and found that my Presonus box is acting weird in a way I can't understand. O.o;; It is recording for the left plug only the left side and the right side only the right side. This would be OK, but w… Continue

Podiobook Curse Part II (broken mike 4?)

My head cold cleared, got a Presonus with wire set up... plugged everything in, got it to see the computer and the computer to see it. MXL microphone is not working in the *exact* same way as before. Only *one* side records. Is this a curse upon me? I might have to return the mike unless some person know how to copy a left track in Audacity to a right track. *sighs* What curse number is this? Murphy should be keeping count.

Are you sure that I can't just use my headphone mike? That's what I tho… Continue

The Podiobook Curse from Hell.

So Christiana Ellis had a head cold before starting a podcast, so couldn't start it on schedule. I remember that one. Then Kimi Alexander lost her files before her podcast and had technical difficulties. Then I remember Tee Morris's and Mur Lafferty's computers crashed. Chris Lester had technical difficulties... Those were minor compared to my hell.

Then would I have the podcast delays from hell for you!! Step right up.
1. I decided to make a podcast a long time ago, then the microphone broke,… Continue

Long time no See? What's with that?

First, school kicked my butt, then I had to rewrite the book another time, then my Nanowrimo 2007 surprised me by not only being up to being published, but pressing me to be published.

The Nanowrimo 2007 will be done June 10th or June 11 ready to podcast (of this year). (No Strings Attached). I don't want to paper publish it and it is done. It comes with a small audience as well with a few people saying they will definitely listen to it. This book is Women's Lit, I would say. Not really Chic Li… Continue

Stuck on Rewrites and Edits

Don't podcast until you get your novel finished. I know that. Which is why I've been burning myself out with rewriting the chapters that simply don't work.

I'm somewhere on Chapter 5 looking critically at chapters 2 and 3. I tried to shorthand Chapters 2 and 3 because I knew if I didn't they'd run long. It didn't work, so I have to go back and edit them.

I'm resigning myself also on the fact that at the rate I'm going I won't be able to podcast this novel until next year. I also resigned mysel… Continue

If you haven't done so already, then feel free to join Liberty Hall Writers, and join in on some of the activities. I'm sure that you'll get something out of the experience.

Sure is a small world. I skimmed over your newest submission (Kimblydawn) recently and by happen chance visited your website because of it. Unfortunately, I didn't get around to critting the work due to an internet problem.

Yeah, I am stuck to the point (Chapter 5) that I'm considering podcasting my Nanowrimo which is an entirely different genre from the novel I'm currently working on. I hate rewriting. I hate it. I hate it. *bangs head against the wall* I want to edit and get the pain over with. I hope to never have to do massive rewrites ever again.

Yup, the alternative novel is Chic Lit/Romance. I never write in genre during Nanowrimo. At least that one is done. I can edit it as I go. Plus the chapters are super short.

I'll break the rule and put two different genres underneath the same name. Rules are meant to be broken.

It is a small world. I actually visited your blog a few months before I joined the Podiobooks Ning community. You wouldn't happen to be a part of Critique Circle or other writer's community like Liberty Hall? I am trying to remember how I found the URL in the first place...

I tried to make a podcast once, but something was wrong with the feed and I couldn't get past the technicality of trying to get it to show up in a search. It eventually got pulled down by iTunes. I didn't really try again. Besides which, I didn't really feel passion for it. I'm hoping my second attempt is better. I'm exchanging my mic in the meantime. It broke after the second day.

Gah, totally new to this whole podcasting thing. (I listen to quite a few) Count me as a dunce. I'm going to collect the recordings of my chapters as I finish them then podcast them.
