The podcast world is a small community so you are always likely to bump into someone :) BTW I don't think your drawing is that shoddy at all. Sometimes keeping things simple is a good way to go. Most of what people are going to see of your cover i...

I have used artists on Deviant Art that I liked- you have to pay for it of course, but there is some amazing talent there.

I have three URLS, but I am sure there are more. Just try and think of how the average person would plug in a url to find your name. I was lucky in that mine is an uncommon name in an uncommon combination. All of them point back to one place howev...

Yes, have a website! If you are planning on being an author, building a career, or even just making it easier for people to find out more about you- have a website. Podiobooks is grand, but for an author, you'll need one. If you're not concerned a...

Glad to help. Accents add an extra level of difficulty- but then I don't have to put one on. I'm kinda stuck with one. ;)

I generally record all in one hit, but when I am doing character voices that I have to be 'in the zone with' I do sometimes make a separate track for. Like Puck in Chasing the Bard- I needed to record him in one go. I think you can get acting whip...

So Long 2008

Been a tumult this year, but a productive one.
I recorded Chasing the Bard and posted it to a better reception that I had anticipated.
I started recording Erotica a la Carte and have found it to be a fun and challenging experience
I began work on a short story, which became a novella (which got interest, but because I wanted more I had to decline with regret), which is now on its way to being a novel
I attended DragonCon
I had a successful launch of my novel Digital Magic, and a heck of a lot of… Continue

Podcasting addiction

Well it is a few weeks until Digital Magic hits the bookstores- yes 08.08.08 and both Tee and I are pimping like crazy critters, but I have this problem....

I am already casting Digital Magic in my head, even though I promised I wouldn't start recording it for at least a year. I keep reminding myself I have other things to do, but doing Chasing the Bard has given me a taste for the Fey. Oh that, and my first review of Digital Magic- yes it was very nice. Suddenly all I can think of is "I want h… Continue

Shakespeare arrives

Today Chasing the Bard is on podiobooks and I am doing a little happy dance. It's good to be in the fold again and I'm going to be onto this ning thing a bit more. CTB has been doing so much better than I thought, and despite the hard work I am enjoying the production side of it. So much so, that I have almost convinced myself once CTB is done to do my New Zealand fantasy novels as podiobooks too- you know the ones the NYC publishing houses say no America audience would be interested in. With my… Continue

Today I begin messing with Shakespeare

Today is it.. the beginning of Chasing the Bard podiobook- at least the planning stages. I have a sequel coming out (hopefully) called Digital Magic in time for DragonCon in August, so this is the time for me to get the podiobook ready to run to act as a lead in.
A lot has changed since I did my first podiobook, Weaver's Web. For a start my writing has gotten better, I have a better grasp of what I am doing - that's all good. However after listening to all the great offerings I realise that ther… Continue

I am listening to your podcast book, "Chasing the Bard" and loving it! Thank goodness I downloaded most of the episodes before I moved and was forced back to the Dark Ages with dial up internet. Thanks for the work you do!

Referring back to episode 13, Chasing the Bard: it gave me a new appreciation for poetry.

Now I am no longer in thrall to Digital Magic, I can tell you how much I enjoyed it. Your talent grows with every novel. Thanks for sharing it with me.

Happy Birthday Pip. Just so you have some context, I met you when you were with Tee at the MD Rennaisance Festival. Um, I think that was two years ago, actually. I enjoyed reading Chasing the Bard.

All human sound were produced specifically for this episode. Tee is a formerly trained actor and I promised to keep the blooper reel out of the feed. The amount of laugher and embarrassment was impressive, but the results are worth it I think =)

Hi, Philippa,

CTB is very good stuff, and you are quite a good producer! I laughed listening to the credits at the end of Episode 13, wondering if the sounds in this ep were from the sound libraries, and figuring, probably not. (I decided not to speculate on how Tee gets these parts.)

What's this about books no American audience would appreciate? Certainly we can't ignore a challenge like that. Bring them on!

Great to have you here, Pip. If for no other reason than to keep Tee in line.

Curious, Pip... What part of NZ are you from again? I was stationed in Christchurch for a bit during my U.S. Navy days. -Loved- N.Z. and plan on going back there at some point again before I die.
