Definitely better. As Nathan says tell the story, so I say 'remember, you're having fun'. I think your accent is what it is, and correcting the cadence and the vigor will be plenty. I see the jowly quality as holding to back of your mouth/throat too…

Narrating is hard! I think I'll stick to singing LOL
I think the mechanical and stilted nature is from concentrating too hard on the individual words and not just relaxing and enjoying reading it.

reading is still a bit mechanical and stilted. the "jowly" sound is still there.
