I think you've got to have a web site. But do you register the 5,6 or even 10 URLs that represent your content and point them at the same place? Or do you maintain different sites for different projects? or do you just register one and then call t...

Horror of horrors! My laptop! Kaput!

My laptop is down. MEDIC!!!

hardware issue with the case and screen... but it's what I use! I need it! Compensating Controls is done. Proving Ground (short story) is done... working on the other projects still and now my laptop is down! There's just something about working on "that" laptop that gets the juices flowing... don't know what I'll do until I can get it fixed!

In other news... I've been playing around with The Next Big Writer, which is a site Greg Crites recommended. Not too shabby..… Continue

Moving right along...

Well, compensating controls is basically done, pending maybe one more edit... about 65K words... I'm working concurrently on 3 separate novel length fictions and a few stories, a couple of which are done. I'm working hard on building a base of material prior to release... I'm all giddy at the thought of putting something out there, but want to make sure I have additional content to follow it up with.... Must keep writing!

Paragraphs like this are just fun to write...

The Mall of America; Mecca to shoppers worldwide, resides in the southern suburb of Bloomington, Minnesota. Encompassing over four million square feet, and able to hold thirty-two Boeing 747s, it is situated just south of the Interstate 494. With over 500 stores catering to virtually every shopping fetish known to man, and over 12,500 parking spaces, it draws people from all over the country to spend their hard earned money. And if shopping is not your thing, eat at one of the over 50 restaurant… Continue

Compensating Controls is coming along very nicely...

I finished the first paper and electronic edit today! Woohoo! W00t! and all that...

I feel like I can say that I have failed. Indeed, I have failed. I have failed to suck.

Honestly, I think it's not half bad... I still need to write the three new chapters, introduce the additional subplot and smooth it all over, but it's getting there. I can feel it! And I can tell you, it feels great!

Compensating Controls is coming along...

I'm still in the editing phase and have my first re-write tasks to do... a few new chapters, some new characters, some death, some of 'all dat!'... It keeps getting better.... I'm trying to do the inital edit of what I've got now prior to writing the new chapters and going back through to smoothen things out. I thought it would be good to get 'what I've got' past that first edit stage and into a more presentable form prior to really messing around with it...

James! Great to hear from ya, sir! I'll ignore all that good stuff you said about my nonsense as it reflects poorly on yer litrachur standards. Just happy to provide some fraggin' audio entertainment on occasion. I hear through the grapevine that you are slinging some dangling participles. Good. Keep at it. Ya need anything, ask me, but you really should ask somebody who knows what the frig they're doing. HAR! Greg

Thanks! You know, you always write for yourself - and I really had fun writing it. My wife convinced me to do something with it, and I was worried that no one would "get" it - it's not really strictly comedy or horror or sci-fi. I was worried that people would think it was too weird or crazy or southern, but hearing from you lets me know that at least someone out there is getting a kick out of it!

Thanks much for the note - keeps me looking forward to the future.

Hey, James. I listened to your sample, and it sounds good! I gave my two cents, but I don't think there's much wrong with it. I've got a character for you if you want to try the voice acting. He speaks a lot in one scene and then goes away, so it's not a big, long term time commitment, but it would give you a chance to walk through the process. Shoot me an email (abigail dot hilton at gmail), and I'll give the specifics.

Go for it! And, hey, if you want a little more of an inside look, I still need voice actors for Cowry Catchers. :) Large, medium, small, and cameo parts are available. If you want to do a little something, you can walk through the process. (And I will, of course, pimp your stuff, which I assume will be around by the end of the year.)

p.s. I would recommend creating at least one podcast by yourself before trying to do full cast. It's a steep learning curve and can be frustrating. Doing the first one with a full cast would have been extraordinarily stressful and not enjoyable. Also, your narration skills tend to improve with practice.
