Fair use: http://fairuse.stanford.edu/Copyright_and_Fair_Use_Overview/chapter9/9-a.html We actually studied this in media law. Unfortunately, fair use primarily applies to academic or parody works. When creating a PSA, for example, the creators sti…

That would usually be put under fair use. If you want to get some interesting lyrics, try looking at Jamendo.com. Lots of aspiring artists, a lot of good stuff there.

Listen to this man. Scott Sigler is the master. In fact, check this out. All of his stuff is great. Playing For Keeps is good, as is 65 Below and Shadowmagic. Serve is Cold by Ronnie Blackwell is AMAZING. Hope this helped.

I know it's a drag. I keep looking too! You gotta be a real music detective! Hhehee. Kinda fun coming across cool bands though.

AH! No, the searching takes a long time. Unfortunately. And some don't respond. I usually spend about an hour or two looking and then write down possible names. Start with my favorite band, email, wait, no answer... go with the next name. I don't know about female singer. I've only found where you can narrow it by genre.

EEK! I don't remember what bands I mentioned. I don't think it's on this comment thread. Can you refresh my memory?? Sorry!

My main book is a vamp book and it has 2 different bands that I swap back and forth. It is not musically centered.
Night's Knights: http://www.podiobooks.com/title/nights-knights/

My other musical series is romance and it is completely integrated with music. The main character wants to be a jazz singer, so I need a lot of music for it.
Sweet Dreams: A Musical Romance: http://www.podiobooks.com/title/sweet-dreams
And my 2nd one is the one I'm working on now. She meets other muscians, so I have to find a boy band and a punk band. Good luck to me!

That's cool! When you have a friend who's a musician it makes it so much easier! Right now I'm looking for 2 different types of bands and it's hard getting the right one. I need a punk band with a male lead and a boy band. Punk band is easier... but the boy band is totally not happening right now. I'd even settle for some "pop" sounding music that sounded like maybe a boy band would sing it. Be careful about what your book says about the band because... sometimes I make it too difficult on myself. When I wrote these books a million years ago, I never thought I would have to find music to fit!

Book preview sounds interesting. Lot of potential! Sounds like you've really thought it out and that you have tons of music knowledge behind it. Are you going to get a band to play the theme song that sounds like the band in your book? I did a book with music as the theme and let me tell you, it was hard to find the right musician. But when I did it really brought the book to life. Good luck!

I was finally able to listen to your audio file. I think your mic might be too close to your mouth because we hear alot of that mouth sound stuff. Also, when you do your cast, you will begin to learn how to cut out the "ums" and "you knows". It's a learning process totally. I think the mic sounds clear besides the mouth noises. Not that you have disgusting mouth noises, we just shouldn't be able to hear you smile. Good luck! And let me know if you need anymore help. I will do my best.

It's ok Faero. Did you try what I said on the post? Just click file upload and upload your mp3 there. Check your post and see if you can do it.

Contagious!

The hard cover is finally out! I bought it as soon as I could and am already entranced with Scott Sigler's amazing work.
Just wanted to put this out there, and EVERY SINGLE ONE of you should by this book, or at least download the podcast. (Note: Start with Infected, it'll make more sense)
