I volunteer to read lines for anyone who needs dialogue read by a female. I can do a variety of voices and accents, and I'll do my best to give your characters life, though my voice is more likely suited to character-roles than leading ladies. :) I've got stage acting experience and am currently in the recording stages of my own book.

I volunteer to read. I have two years of podcasting experience, and five years of public speaking on stage in front of 500 people each night (albeit for about five minutes at a time!).

Also, have genuine British accent! Often compared to Jeremy Clarkson/Jeremy Kyle ;)

No real idea what I could do to help... but I'm here....

I'm also volunteering to read. Years of compliments, public speaking. I'd prefer to read something I wouldn't be embarrassed to have my grown sons and 74 yo mother listen to...
:)

I live near the Akron, Ohio area.

I would like to volunteer to read for someone's project. I have been enjoying Mur Laffertys Playing For Keeps and if I can give something back to the community here I would be happy to.

Here is my applicable experience:

3+ years in radio broadcasting
2 years radio dispatch
10 years as a teacher/technical trainer

Part of my job is creating web tutorials for software packages, and have added voice narration to many of them. People say they like my voice, I hope they aren't just being flattering :)

Let me know if I can be of assistance. If need be, I would be happy to record a small script to give an example so you can see if I can fit your needs.

Thanks!

Mark

I would like to volunteer to help with making Podiobooks.com a better site. I have a huge number of suggestions and I am an accomplished web developer to boot.

I don't know if this is the right forum for the suggestions and things that need work, but I feel the site could use some spit and polish to make it the best site it could be.

I'm interested in helping authors create eBooks formatted for reading using the eReader.com reader.

Both MobiPocket and eReader allow certain characters or graphics to be inserted, and text to be formatted. What it requires is taking the text of a book, and putting it into eReaders eBook Studio. Once the text is loaded in to the program, the whole book is edited in something like a small word processor. The final output file is in a Palm Doc format that can be read using the eReader software, which can be used for free. It is possible to create a password protected version of the file, but without a distribution network like the eReader infrastructure, creating licenses may be a bit tedious.

When it comes to what environment you can use, eReader software works on multiple platforms, many that are portable, and is working on iPhone and Blackberry versions. eReader was recently purchased by a competitor, Fictionwise, and the eReader site and product offerings have been recently updated, leading me to believe that eReader and Fictionwise are not going anywhere anytime soon.

This video is wobbly and out of focus, but here's what I did for Mur Lafferty.

Well, like several others who have posted, I would be happy to do reading for someone, although I am more thinking reading one part or a short story rather than a whole podiobook.

I also am a web programmer, so if podiobooks has needs along those lines, I might be able to help - obviously it depends on exactly what platform(s) you guys are using. Along those lines, one thing that occurred to me is that it would be great to have an email subscription option built into podiobooks. Like feedburner has, except that because of the customization of the feed on podiobooks, people could start at episode one rather than the latest episode. I was actually toying with the idea of writing something like this on my own web site for my feedburner feed, but I hope to be on podiobooks soon, and it would make a lot more sense both to leverage what podiobooks already has regarding the custom feed and to write something that can be used by more than just me.
