Podiobooks.com Community

A place for all fans, authors and creators of Podiobooks.com

A big thank you to everyone on the mentorship program who helped me knock my first podcast into shape. I've learned a lot in the process. Get a Life! went live on Wednesday 28 October, and I'm up to 400 downloads for episode 1 in two days.

Thanks again

John

Thanks, Diana. I have no numbers to compare with so I didn't know if that number was good, bad or average. Stands at 500 now, which sounds not too bad to me!

If you look at the PB.com "stats" you get a much smaller number than you do from the statistic section of Libsynpro, so I advise the latter. In terms of total numbers, there's no way to easily see what others have done, but Brian recently told me The Dawn of Power Trilogy combined just passed 150,000, and none of those books are in the "Top Ten" list, so you and I have a ways to go. In 3 months since releasing Anon Time I have about 1,500 downloads for Episode 1 on Libsynpro, with 3/4 following through to the last episode. What I LOVE about PB.com is that it gives us a forum to get many hundreds of readers, so at least we can know we were heard. If we're good and persistent, maybe we can reach a larger audience, but we were heard. Compare to a format like Smashwords.com, where you should be too by the way, where I have only a handful of hits, cause it's so hard to stand out from the crowd. All the more reason to spread the word, tell a friend, a coworker, a stranger, tell 'em all.

Thanks, Craig, this is helpful. I do use PB and trying out Smashwords (though I have my ebook on Lulu.com already). I consider I am in a niche market (self development), so I'm never going to be attracting the JC Hutchins and Scott Sigler numbers! Still, 1,000 so far in a few weeks, and counting, I consider not half bad for what I do.

Thanks for your helpful comments.
